Pornography: The Untold Stories

Pornography is big business in many parts of the world today, mostly patronized by youths who desperately need an "opium" for their
lack of sex. In countries like Japan and U.S.A we have pornography
industries worth billions of dollars but they would not tell you that
these billions are made at the expense of people’s lives and future.

The following are quotes from Ark of Hope for children on child
trafficking and how pornography aids it.

 "When a child has been recruited,
transported, harbored, or received
and some commercial element is
introduced in the production of child
pornography, then that individual
has also engaged in child trafficking.
Whether they work in strip clubs or
sweatshops, these boys and girls are
victims of human trafficking.

"The Trafficking Victims Protection
Act (TVPA) defines “severe forms of
trafficking in persons” as: sex
trafficking in which a commercial sex
act is induced by force, fraud, or
coercion, or in which the person
induced to perform such an act has
not attained 18 years of age.

 "The economic reality is that
human trafficking is driven by profits.
If nobody paid for sex, sex trafficking
would not exist."

The truth is that as we watch porn, we create traffic on porn sites
thus generating more money for these people to continue female
trafficking and assault. Many of these people are forced to have
unprotected sex while acting porn and in the process contact STDs. Just
by visiting these porn sites, we are paying for people to have STDs.
But of course nobody cares because it is good for business.

Also the exponential increase in leaked videos has become a growing
sore as it leads people to sell their friends', classmates’, neighbors',
nude photos to porn sites just to earn money. And what could be the
outcome of this? The person who has her nudes exposed would become extremely
depressed and in some cases commit suicide just like the case of
Tovonna Holtan from Florida, Benedicta Yeboah from Ghana, Nahnah
Abynah from Ghana, etc.

So the sequence is simple: we watch porn, help them generate traffic,
they earn money and destroy the lives of several women just to earn
more money. Say no to pornography.

The Children of Israel on their journey through the wilderness compassed mount Seir many days. Then the Lord spoke and said to them, "Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you Northward". Many times in life we find ourselves going round and round in a circle and making no progress.


In what area of your life is this occurring? It could be your work, profession, business, Christianity, prayer life, Bible Reading, etc. Our God is interested in the prosperity of His Children. He desires that you should make progress in every positive area of your life.


There should be progress in what you were five years ago. If you used to pray one hour a day two years ago, you should have increased to two hours by now. This goes also for the time devoted to reading and studying the word of God.


It also goes for your dedication to His service. If you used to get very angry at the least provocation, you should stop compassing that mountain of anger. This applies spiritually, physically, financially and materially. It is time to move on to greater heights!

The Odyssey of the Slave Boy

The next day being Nkwo market day, I followed Mama to the market, carrying her wares on my head and grudgingly dragging my feet along the dusty bush path that lead to the market square. Mama was planning to use the profit from the sales to buy foodstuff, more clothing, because her age grade had a ceremony coming up and she did not want to be the only one wearing old clothes.
As we got to the crowded market square which was two miles from our hamlet, we saw all kinds of people there- tall, short, good-looking, ugly and compassionate. We soon found a good spot which was to serve as Mama's shop for the day to sell her wares. It was as though customers fled our side because nobody came around, not even to inquire about the prices of Mama’s wares.
 Perceiving growing commotion nearby, I looked in the direction of a man agitating because the price of a red cap had shot up from 20 cowries to 28.
As I kept on observing the elderly man, I heard the loudest bang I have ever heard before and everyone scattered in different directions to safety. I and Mama also tried to quickly pack our goods and flee but within a millisecond, we, and about a hundred other people were rounded up with men carrying guns, machetes, spears, and all other kinds of weapons. We were bound-hands, neck, and wrist in groups of ten, slowly marching to an unknown destination.

Life

This is one of the greatest challenges in modern science because it has no general definition due to its diversity. Someone may define life as simply reproduction, but viruses only reproduce while in a living medium, so can we still call that life? How did life come about? Why do we have plants, and other organisms? Ever since the origin of man, we have searched the globe for our origin. Some have told stories which are passed to their kids, while others looked for evidence. Our earth is about 4.5 billion years old and the oldest life form is about 3.5 billion years. But how did it come about? Astrobiologists have studied the origin of life on earth and proposed several hypotheses of the origin of life. I would state the two most popular ones:

1. Extra-terrestrial origin: Many astrobiologists
believe that life came from a distant planet and
began to evolve here on earth. This hypothesis
is found on the observation that some asteroids
that landed on earth sometime ago had L-amino
acids on its surface. Now the striking thing is
that under extreme conditions we would look at
later, both L and D amino acids are formed in
reactions. But living things prefer L amino acids.
Could it be that life in other planets used L-amino
acids and it became the substance which we used to
evolve? Who knows??

2. Extreme conditions: This hypothesis believes
that life was formed in extreme conditions here
on earth. This is founded on the observation
that if minerals are bubbled under high
temperature, molecules necessary for life are
produced. For example, if methane, carbon dioxide,
water, hydrogen, and ammonia are bubbled
under high temperature, I get both D @ L amino acids.
Please note that 3.5 billion years ago earth was extremely hot and
was filled with those gases.
So if life evolved like that, how did they feed?
These cells mostly survived at hydrothermal
water sites. Now these sites contained mineral
deposits at it's lower part, and these minerals
would melt which the cells would feed on.
Some organisms lost their use of locomotion
following Lamarck’s law on use and disuse. Lynn
Margulis proposed a theory that says eukaryotic
organisms were formed as a result of the
encapsulation of the mitochondria and chloroplast.
So since some organisms contained chloroplasts,
they had no need for motility thus lost the use
for it.
Though I am speaking basically of earth-like life.
But what about extra terrestrial life? We have
found none though there are moons and distant
planets we think might hold , for example, Europa One
of Jupiter, Titus which is Saturn’s moon,
Kepler 186f, etc. So we are keeping our fingers
crossed hoping we find life sometime soon. But
I remain positive.

Coffee and Cream...Sugar and Tea

Sugar and Cream are a White couple
Sugar works with Tea, the flirty Latina
Tea sends Sugar some dirty texts
Sugar is now very 'honey'.
'Sugar rush' back home to Cream
Cream in bed 'without sugar' but with the Black neighbor, Coffee, who 'handles' her 'jugs' in his dark hands 'cup'ping firmly,
as he must have 'bean' doing for a while
Sugar doesn't take this 'lightly'
Cream lie: sex isn't sweet without Sugar,
But Sugar sees, Sugar remembers
Sugar 'dissolves' marriage, 'Sugar free'
Sugar 'heats up' Tea, Tea is hot for him
Sugar gets to Tea's, Tea is naked and wet
Sugar is not one to tease, 'Sugar-cane'.

And till this day
coffee goes better with cream
and tea with sugar.
