HATE MY BODY

So there I was, scrolling through my friends' posts on Facebook during work on Monday and couldn’t believe the cluster of pictures that slapped me silly. One of my friends had posted four or five pictures of women who had gotten butt implants which had eventually gone bad…like…really bad. Let me share one of the pictures here.

The comment above best captions this disgusting picture. Why would girls put themselves through this kind of torture? Women are stigmatized for various reasons, we know, but to make women hate their bodies to the extent that they are willing to implant strange things into themselves for the aim of pleasing the public, and more often, the opposite sex??!  Enough is enough! The worse part is that it is other women who deliberately raise the standard to an impossible degree, thereby forcing other women to aspire what is not natural. Although both men and women are susceptible to insecurity based on societal pressure, I will focus on women only because it is predominant with females. This post is aimed at attacking the image set for women to follow, the image that does not exist! And I’m not holding back. Not on this one. I’m going to the extreme, and hell yes… I’m naming names and giving faces. What’s more, I have a cool subheading.

WOMEN WHO GET PAID TO NEGATIVELY INFLUENCE THE WAY SOCIETY SAYS WE SHOULD LOOK
1. NICKI MINAJ: One of the most influential women of right now, a successful rap artist and glam icon, Nicki Minaj stands tall amongst her fellow musicians as the best female rapper of our generation. But why is she first on this list? Although Miss Minaj knows how much influence she has over young women, especially Black women, of this era, she continues to strike insecurity into the hearts of girls and women worldwide who don’t “look like her.”
(Now don’t misunderstand this post. This is not me bashing on anyone or hating on our celebs. But someone should speak up on what’s going on because, in a few years, all we’ll be having is plastic females walking around and plenty of superficiality.)
Now… Nicki Minaj is credited for spearheading the curvy movement around the world. Left alone, there’s nothing wrong with that. Curvy is beautiful and so is every other body type. The problem is that Nicki, who isn’t even naturally as curvy as she would like people to perceive, also bashes on slimmer or more slender girls. In her famous song, Anaconda, she openly blasts thinner girls, saying (and please excuse the French) “F*** them skinny bit**es in the club…Where all my big ass bit**es in the club…?” …um…I don’t know about anyone else, but that sounds mighty hypocritical, Miss Minaj, considering you were probably skinnier and flatter than the skinny bit**es you wanna throw out the club so badly.

I myself am on the slender side, and I think everyone is beautiful and every shape unique, be you big or petite or fat or flat. Not everyone can afford Nicki's brand of surgery, especially in third world countries. Some girls pop birth control pills because of its rumored effect on weight gain around the backside. Celebrities like her need to stop spraying the message that all women should look like her, it’s neither possible nor desirable. Nicki, there is no such thing as flawless.

We shouldn’t discriminate against ourselves; was should be building ourselves up! And one thing I fault in Nicki's music and message is that she wants women to become slaves not only to our libidos but also to the demands of men…usually random men we may have met at parties or men we just feel an attraction towards. The entertainment industry will stop at nothing to turn us all into a race of sex-driven animals. And they create women like Nicki Minaj from scratch, sculpting them with all manners of surgery to suit the image they want to portray and then use their puppets to program the masses. It’s beyond sad…it's sickening.

2. THE KARDASHIANS: Oh, the ever famous family, popularized by scandal, sex, and divorce…oh yeah, and their undying love for plastic surgery. The Kardashians are no doubt the most influential family on earth, the down side being that they are destroying every sense of morality we have.
In the Kardashian manor, imperfection is not allowed. Everyone must maintain the tradition of unrivaled beauty and exude sex appeal, even if it means going under the knife. This destructive mentality was handed, or rather, shoved, down their throats and knocked into the brains of the girls and women by their mother who has had more than her fair share of plastic surgery. That’s you, Kris Jenner!

Her oldest child, Kourtney, has admitted to getting her breasts augmented. The next daughter, and probably the most controversial of them all, Kim, has not admitted to getting anything done at all, despite her large butt and huge boobs which refuse to sag or show any sign of active breastfeeding…or does she not believe in that, too? Well, I believed her until I found the following pictures online and was subsequently shocked. I for one don’t like being lied to or fooled and, boy, did they get me big time!

Then there's the youngest daughter Kylie Jenner, who already started flirting with surgery even as a minor. Not only has she gotten her lips and nose done, a boob job is also highly suspected. Let’s just give her the benefit of the doubt.

And I’m not saying that one shouldn’t enjoy one’s hard-earned money however one chooses to, but then when you realize you are a socialite and wield the power to affect millions of lives, isn’t it common sense to wise up and be a positive role model for those people? And even if they wanted to get surgeries from now till the end of time, fine, but at least be up front about it.

3. LIL KIM: I don’t have anything to say here, let the pictures speak for themselves.

And there are many more female celebrities who try to fix an image for the rest of us women. I only named those at the forefront. Why should women be taught to base their worth on their bodies and how many men they have been able to snag under their blankets? I hated listening to male rap artists because they only portrayed women as sex objects, only used for their gratification and them paid and dumped like prostitutes. They use all types of words to describe women: hoes, bit**es, sluts, you name it. And when boys listen to that, they approach every girl that way, thinking he’s going to get the same thing. Nowadays, female artists are spitting out the same thing and even worse. And then they become  fake, artificial versions of their real selves because that’s what sells.

This movement has been so successful that even our young men and boys now feel they have the right to dictate to girls and women how they should look. Boys say to girls, “Well…you have big boobs but you don’t have an ass so you need to start squatting.” WTF??! Girls are so used to being put under a microscope and judged for every single flaw that they readily decide to undergo cosmetic surgeries which may be potentially dangerous if you accidentally go to a quack doctor. It’s demeaning to have a guy who only wants to sleep with you tell you that the way God made you wasn’t good enough and you should dramatically alter your appearance. “You’re too fat for me to like you…if you could just lose some weight on your thighs, I’d go for it!” And we women accept this, rush to the nearest restroom, and start blowing chunks, or go on crash diets all for the attention of some brainless asshole who probably can't tell the difference between his penis and his brain. Women, let’s wise up. Let’s stick up for each other more often. And let’s learn to love ourselves. God made us with our bodies and we won’t get another, so we’d better start appreciating the ones we have. There’s no one else like you in the world and that’s what we need to realize. Ciao.
